Before you start
You'll need:
A valid email address you can access right now. We'll send a verification code to it.
A Google account (optional), only if you prefer to sign up with Google instead of email and password.
Step 1: Open the sign-up page
Go to public.govinity.com or from any Govinity customer public portal page (i.e. https://public.govinity.com/portal/mountainview)
Click Sign up in the top-right corner of the navigation bar.
Already have an account? Click Log in instead.
Step 2: Enter your name and email
You'll be taken to the Govinity sign-up page.
Enter your First name and Last name.
Enter your Email address.
Click Continue.
Prefer to use Google? Click Continue with Google instead and follow the Google prompts. If you choose this path, you can skip ahead to Step 5.
Step 3: Create a password
Next, you'll create a password for your account.
Check that the email shown at the top is correct. If it's wrong, click Go back.
Enter a password in the Create a password field. Use the eye icon on the right to show or hide what you're typing.
Click Continue.
Step 4: Verify your email
For security, we need to confirm you own the email address you entered.
Open your email inbox and look for a message from Govinity <[email protected]> with the subject "Verify your email address".
Copy the 6-digit code from the email.
Type or paste the code into the six boxes on the verification screen. The page will continue automatically once all six digits are entered.
The code expires in 10 minutes. If it runs out before you use it, click Resend on the verification screen to get a new one.
Didn't receive the email?
Check your spam or junk folder.
Make sure you entered the correct email address. Click Back to sign-in if you need to start over with a different email.
Add
[email protected]to your contacts so future emails aren't filtered out.
Step 5: You're in!
Once your email is verified, you'll land on your My Account dashboard.
From here, you can select:
Followed Governments — Start following city councils, school boards, and other local governments to get updates.
Upcoming Meetings — See the next meetings for the governments you follow.
My Seat Applications — Apply for open seats on boards and commissions.
Account Settings — Add your phone number, address, and other profile details.
